Bryana Terriquez

On Sunday, members of the Fresno County Sheriff – Coroner’s Office completed an autopsy on Bryana Terriquez, 16, of Coalinga.

Her cause of death is pending the results of toxicology tests, which could take several weeks to receive.

On Saturday, July 2nd, Terriquez was reported to have been experiencing a medical issue while in custody at the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Campus (JJC) located at 3333 E. American Ave. in Fresno.  An ambulance responded to the JJC and transported her to Community Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased.

Around 5:30 pm, homicide detectives with the Fresno Sheriff’s Office and members of the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office responded to the JJC to begin an investigation into the death of Terriquez.  It is standard procedure for detectives to respond to matters such as this because of their expertise.

Terriquez was in custody due to a probation violation.  Since she is a minor, no further details of her criminal history are available at this time.
