At 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, Fresno County Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary in progress call at a home on the 8600 block of N. Linda Lane in Clovis.
The homeowner entered his house and was confronted by a man (35 year old Albertico Garcia) who had a gun. He pointed the rifle, which was later determined to be a pellet gun, at the homeowner. The victim escaped the house and called for help. Deputies and Clovis Police officers surrounded the home and worked under the assumption that the suspect was still in the house. Announcements were made, but Garcia refused to come out and surrender. Deputies and officers used robotic equipment to search the house, along with a K9. At 6:30 pm, the dog signaled to its handler that the suspect may be in a bedroom where the door was closed. Deputies entered the room, found Garcia hiding in a closet and placed him under arrest.
Albertico Garcia was booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges such as burglary, possession of a firearm by a felon and probation violation.
