Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have booked Marcos Larios, 26, of Fresno into the Fresno County Jail.
He faces a felony charge of evading a peace officer and misdemeanors of DUI and hit and run. Larios has a bail of $61,000.
At 12:45 am on Tuesday, a deputy noticed the driver (Marcos Larios) of a GMC pickup truck weaving all over the roadway on southbound Highway 41 near McKinley Ave. The deputy activated his lights and siren and attempted to make a traffic stop on the truck, but Larios chose not to pull over. Instead, Larios continued on to eastbound Highway 180 at a high rate of speed. Larios took the Clovis Ave. exit and traveled south. When he reached the intersection of Clovis and Kings Canyon, Larios struck the back of a parked Honda Accord, which caused his truck to bounce into an Ecolab company vehicle that was driving south on Clovis Ave. The Ecolab vehicle suffered minor damage and the driver was not injured. Larios’ truck suffered tire damage, but he continued to speed away at 85 – 90 mph hour. Larios went west on American Ave. to Golden State Blvd. He then went west on Manning Ave. and got onto northbound Hwy. 99. Deputies and officers with the California Highway Patrol had setup a traffic break on Hwy. 99 at Merced Street, which caused Larios to stop his truck in the middle of the freeway. At 1:00 am, deputies and officers were able to get Larios out of the truck and they placed him under arrest without incident. CHP conducted a field sobriety test on Larios and his breath sample registered a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.27, which is more than three times the legal limit.

The entire pursuit traveled 19.6 miles and lasted 15 minutes. During this time, Larios showed complete disregard for the safety of the public, deputies and himself. His truck suffered front end damage and he wore one of his front tires down to the rim.
