Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 68-year-old Donna Eddington of Fresno.
She has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on the following felony charges: Carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a weapon in public and two counts of possession of a weapon in a state building.
On Tuesday at 10:30 am, Eddington placed her purse on the conveyor belt of the x-ray machine located inside the B.F. Sisk Courthouse located at 1130 O St. in Fresno. Deputies working in the security screening area noticed a dark colored object inside her purse, so they removed items from the bag for further examination. Deputies discovered a loaded 25-caliber handgun and a box cutter (pictured below). When asked why she was carrying the weapons, Eddington said she was afraid of her neighbor and was at the courthouse to seek a restraining order.
Weapons are strictly prohibited at all court locations. Numerous signs are posted in the front of the facilities and clearly state which items are illegal to bring in.
