Angel GonzalesAngel Gonzales, 28, of Fresno has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges of vehicle theft, evading an officer and probation violation.  He has an extensive violent criminal history.

Around 1:00 am Tuesday, a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy saw a reckless driver in the area of Mayfair Drive North and Circle Court in Fresno.  The deputy ran the vehicle’s license plate in his computer and discovered it was stolen.  The deputy activated his lights and sirens and attempted to pull over the driver (Gonzales), but he refused.  The deputy pursued the suspect for approximately 30 seconds. Gonzales then crashed into a parked car at Mayfair Drive South and Normal Ave. Gonzales got out of the car and ran, but the deputy caught him a short distance away on the 3300 block of Normal Ave.
