Deputy Todd BurkOn Monday, March 30th, the Rotary Club of Fresno presented Deputy Todd Burk with its annual Public Safety Award.

Deputy Burk has worked for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office for the past 10 years.  His assignments have included work in the jail, courts and out on the streets.  While detailed to patrol duties, Burk was assigned to the Fig Garden contract, area patrol and his latest assignment as a canine handler.  In 2014, Burk arrested 108 criminals while simultaneously handling K9 Kajo.  He not only owns one of the highest arrest rates in the Sheriff’s Office, but has also captured some of Fresno County’s most wanted and dangerous criminals.  Deputy Burk has also received of a number of stolen vehicle recovery awards.

Deputy Burk is married has two children.  The Fresno Sheriff’s Office is a family tradition in the Burk family.  Todd’s father was a homicide detective, his uncle was a captain, his brother was a deputy sheriff and his cousin currently serves as a deputy sheriff.

The Rotary Club also presented awards to members of the Fresno Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Fresno Fire Department for their exceptional work.
