Teodore Torres

Property crimes detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 28 year old Teodore Torres of Le Grand (Merced County).

He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on two felony counts of residential burglary, one count of attempted burglary and one charge of auto theft.  He has a bail amount of $135,000.

During the overnight hours of February 17th, two break-ins and an attempted burglary occurred at homes on the 21000 block of Eastmere Lane.  More specifically, these homes are in the gated community of Brighton Crest, located off Millerton Road near Millerton State Park.  During the first incident, the homeowner discovered that while they were sleeping, someone entered their home and garage.  The burglar stole some camera equipment and a wallet.  At the other house, a burglary also took place while the homeowner slept.  They woke up to find their car was missing.  The burglar was able to find the keys and drove away.  The vehicle was found crashed later that day in a neighborhood near E. Butler and S. Orange Avenues in Fresno.

Detectives recovered surveillance footage of a possible suspect, who was later identified as Teodore Torres.  Information was developed that Torres is known to hang out in Fresno’s Mayfair District.  On February 25th, a deputy assigned to work on the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force spotted Torres near McKinley and First in Fresno and took him into custody.  Detectives recovered the stolen camera and returned it to the owner.
