Nicholaus EnochsAg Task Force detectives have arrested Nicholaus Enochs, 37, of Fresno.

Enochs was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, vandalism and drug possession.  He has since posted bond and bailed out of jail.

Detectives were driving past the Chevron gas station at 4021 S. Maple Ave. when they noticed a U-Haul truck matching the description of one which had been reported stolen.  Detectives checked the license plate with DMV records and learned it was listed as being stolen.  The truck was unoccupied at the time, so detectives waited to see if someone would return to pick it up.  Approximately 45 minutes later, they observed Nicholaus Enochs unlock the door, get into the driver’s seat and drive away.  Detectives activated their vehicle’s emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop on the U-Haul truck.  Enochs pulled over and was taken into custody without incident.

Detectives searched the cargo area of the box truck and discovered large amounts of copper wire and ceramic insulators. The copper wire was later determined to be utility wire belonging to PG&E.  Detectives also found a fanny pack on the passenger seat which contained small amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Anyone with additional information about Enochs is asked to the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
