7/14/16 - The Coroner’s Office has released the name of the homicide victim found at a property on South Blythe Ave on Wednesday.  He is 49 year old Rafael Garcia of Fresno.

7/13/16 - Around 9:30 Wednesday morning, an ambulance responded to a home on the 10300 block of S. Blythe Ave. in Fresno County for a call of an injured person.

Emergency personnel arrived and examined the victim, a Hispanic man who was lying on the ground outside of a home.  First responders noticed trauma to the man’s body, which were consistent with his death being a homicide.

Deputies were dispatched to the location and they searched the area for possible suspects, but did not find anyone.  The property is a farm labor camp where many different families live.  Deputies interviewed people who were in the area and relayed the information to homicide detectives who later arrived at the scene.  Detectives interviewed more potential witnesses and members of the FSO Crime Scene Unit collected evidence for processing.

This remains an ongoing investigation.  No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.

This marks the 10th homicide of 2016 in Fresno County.
