6/9/17 - The victim has been identified as Steven Robinson, 21, of Orange Cove.  An autopsy found injuries consistent with it being a homicide.  Specific details of those injuries are not available at this time.

6/8/17 - Around 1:45 pm on Thursday, an ag worker discovered a man lying in a vineyard with visible injuries.

He was located in the area of Mountain View Ave. and Bethel Ave. in Selma.  Cal Fire firefighters were first to arrive to this emergency call and they determined the man was deceased. Dispatchers with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received the information and had deputies respond to the area to secure it as a crime scene.

Homicide detectives and members of the Crime Scene Unit also responded to collect evidence and speak with the person who discovered the body.  It is unknown how the man got to this location or how long he had been there.  The investigation is being considered a questionable death.

Members of the Coroner’s Office will schedule an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

The identity and age of the man is not available to release at this time.
