On Sunday, detectives with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) arrested a 17 year old for a recent drive-by shooting in the City of San Joaquin.
He has been booked into the Juvenile Justice Campus on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied building and participating in a criminal street gang. MAGEC served a search warrant at his home and recovered two handguns, one of which was stolen and the other had its serial numbers removed.
The teenager was arrested for his role in a shooting that occurred on June 4th. Just before 10:30 pm, a person inside a vehicle driving in the area of 6th and Nevada Streets fired multiple shots toward a home. No one was injured by gunfire. Sheriff’s deputies responded and took a report. Information gathered identified the above-mentioned 17 year old gang member as being responsible for the shooting.
Around 6:30 pm on June 6th, a drive-by shooting took place on Utah Street, near Manning Ave. A 30 year old man was struck in the leg while outside of a home. EMS transported the man to the hospital for treatment of his injury. An arrest has not been made for this shooting. This is a gang-related incident.
Detectives have arrested three young men for a May 28th gang-related shooting, which injured a 22 year old man who was standing in the area of Nevada and 6th Street in the City of San Joaquin. They also arrested a 17 year old gang member for shooting and killing a 19 year old man in this same area of the city on May 26th.
