Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a car that may have been involved in a deadly shooting.
The car is described as a 2014 or 2015 Kia Optima. It is white with four doors, black rims and tinted windows. The public is encouraged to contact detectives with any information they may have about the car captured on video while driving through the area where the shooting took place.
Shortly after 1:30 pm on December 6th, 2017, Orange Cove Police officers responded to a call of multiple shots fired on H Street, between Anchor Avenue and 12th Street. Officers arrived and found 40 year old Pedro Mantancillas lying on the sidewalk of H Street. A closer look revealed he was deceased. Orange Cove Police requested Fresno County Sheriff’s homicide detectives respond to the scene to take over the investigation.
Mantancillas was a homeless man known to stay in the Orange Cove area. This remains an ongoing investigation and a motive for this homicide is unknown.
