On Thursday, property crimes detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office recovered close to $1 million worth of stolen property.

The items mostly consist of designer purses, shoes and jewelry.  Detectives are now focused on identifying the rightful owners of these items so they can be returned to them.

Detectives executed search warrants at two different storage facilities in the Fresno area and discovered stolen merchandise inside multiple rental units.  The decision to visit these locations was based off of a large on-going investigation involving residential and commercial burglaries.  It is unknown how much of the property may have been stolen from addresses in Fresno County.  Detectives are now cross referencing their reports to see if any of the items match.  We have also notified other local law enforcement agencies of our recovery so their detectives can research reports as well.  No arrests have been made.  This remains an on-going investigation.
