Around 10:30 am on Thursday, dispatchers with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call that a robbery occurred at WestAmerica Bank, located at 5751 S. Elm Ave. in Easton.

Deputies responded and took a report from employees.

The preliminary investigation shows a man walking into the bank and pointing a handgun at employees, telling them to give him money.  The man made verbal threats of violence.  The teller gave the suspect cash and he quickly fled the branch.

Detectives have gathered surveillance video of the suspect taken inside the bank.  It shows him to be:  Hispanic, in his 30s or 40s, 5’6” tall with a stocky build.  He was wearing a dark colored baseball cap, sunglasses, a disposable surgical mask, a long-sleeve bright orange shirt and white gloves.

There were multiple employees and one customer inside during the time of the robbery.  Nobody was injured.

Detectives are reviewing a January 2019 robbery at this same bank to see if it might be the same suspect. Photos can be seen at https://www.fresnosheriff.org/media-relations/detectives-search-for-man-who-robbed-bank-at-gunpoint-3.html
