On Wednesday, March 1, 2017, agents assigned to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area unit (HIDTA), the Fresno Methamphetamine Task Force (FMTF) and Central Valley Marijuana Investigation Team (CVMIT) made three arrests and seized 16 lbs. of methamphetamine.
Undercover agents arranged to purchase eight pounds of methamphetamine from a person in the city of Tulare. They met with two suspects at an undisclosed location and arrested them, while seizing the drugs. Agents then traveled to Bakersfield and met with another person involved with the arrested suspects who was selling illegal drugs. Agents contacted that person, arrested them and seized another eight pounds of methamphetamine. The total street value is approximately $45,000. The names and photos of the suspects are not available for release as this remains an ongoing investigation.
HIDTA is comprised of members from several federal, state and local agencies. These include, but are not limited to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, Fresno Police Department, Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations and the California Department of Justice.
