Deputies arrest a total of five people involved in two different vehicle theft cases in the Mayfair District of Fresno County.
The suspects are: Anthony Garcia, 20 yrs. old, Yesenia Lopez, 22 yrs. old, Gabriel Pulido, 30 yrs. old, Rebecca Stanley, 30 yrs. old and James Vanderpool, 24 yrs. old.
The first incident happened Monday, January 12th, in an alley located on the 3200 block of E. McKinley Ave. Around 1:15 am, a patrol deputy noticed a green Honda car idling in the alley. The deputy ran the car’s license plate through his computer and discovered it was stolen. The deputy approached the car and asked the people inside to get out. They were identified as Anthony Garcia and Yesenia Lopez. Garcia told the deputy that a friend of his gave him the car the day before. Garcia said he planned to only use it for a short time because he does not have a mode of transportation. Garcia was booked into the Fresno County Jail on a charge of vehicle theft. Lopez was arrested for having several outstanding drug-related warrants.
The second incident occurred at 1:35 am at Normal and 6th St. which is about a quarter mile away from the first incident. A different patrol deputy recognized a blue Honda car matching the description of a stolen vehicle. The deputy checked the license plate on his computer and found that it was indeed a reported stolen car. The deputy pulled the driver over and interviewed the three people inside. Gabriel Pulido, Rebecca Stanley and James Vanderpool were all arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on vehicle theft charges. The deputy also developed information that may help property crime detectives solve a recent residential burglary.
Anyone with information on the suspects involved in these cases is asked to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
