In an effort to reduce the health risk to court users, court personnel, and court officers, the Fresno Superior Court will temporarily close the courts, effective Monday, March 23, 3020.

Effective tomorrow morning, the court will be closed for all purposes except for limited emergency matters. The matters for which  special procedures will be announced by the court  include the following:

A. Ex parte request for  civil harassment temporary restraining orders, domestic violence restraining orders, gun violence restraining orders, and emergency ex parte lockout proceedings in unlawful detainer;

B. Emergency petition for temporary conservatorship;

C. Emergency petition for temporary guardianship;

D. Search warrants, Emergency protective orders, and bail setting;

E. Juvenile temporary restraining orders and other Emergency juvenile orders;

F. Family emergency temporary restraining orders;

G. Emergency writ regarding  COVID-19 emergency measures; and

H. Writs of habeas corpus regarding Medical quarantines.

Jurors in ongoing trials will be required to return to court when the court reopens. Such jurors are not released from jury service by this temporary closure. Jurors will be notified when and where to return.
