Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have booked a 39 year old Huron man into the Fresno County Jail.
He is facing felony charges of murder, attempted murder, being a prohibited person in possession of a gun / ammunition, possession of body armor and shooting at an occupied vehicle.
On Monday, 3/27/17 at 2:30 PM, the Huron Police Department received a call of shots being fired in the area of Lassen Ave. and Tornado Ave. While checking the area, they located two victims on 10th Street, east of Lassen Ave., who had been shot. One of the victims was shot multiple times and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC). The second victim was treated and released on scene. The Huron Police Department requested that the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office take over the investigation. The victim who was airlifted died a short time after arriving at CRMC. The victim has been identified as 22 year old Jesus Adrian Amador Jr. of Huron.
During the night, the suspect arrived at the Huron Police Department to inquire about his vehicle that had recently be impounded. Coincidentally, FSO detectives working the investigation were at the police station during the time he showed up. Detectives had already identified this man as a person of interest in the shooting, so they were able to detain and arrest him. A motive has not been determined. This remains an ongoing investigation.
