Members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit and Fresno County District Attorney’s Office are conducting an investigation into the death of an inmate at the Fresno County Jail.

Shortly before 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 24th, Fresno Police officers booked Francisco Abel Delarosa into the Fresno County Jail.  The 38 year old Fowler man was arrested for being a wanted parolee.  Around 2:00 am, Delarosa was inside a holding cell waiting for his bed assignment when he experienced a medical emergency.  Correctional officers immediately tended to him while waiting for an ambulance to respond to the jail.  EMS personnel transported Delarosa to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.

This remains an ongoing investigation.  A cause of death should be known following the results of an autopsy and toxicology tests.
