Members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit have identified 21 year old Andrew Ramirez of Kerman as the man who died as a result of a gunshot wound to his face.
At 4:00 pm on January 8th, deputies responded to a call of shots fired at a home on the 6500 block of W. Yale Ave. in Fresno. Deputies were directed to go inside a renovated garage and there they found Ramirez deceased. Deputies gathered several people who were on the property at the time of the shooting and turned them over to detectives at the scene. Through interviews, detectives learned there was some sort of struggle with a firearm that resulted in Ramirez getting shot. Detectives are still trying to determine the exact set of circumstances which lead to the gun being fired. This has not been ruled a homicide and no arrests have been made.
This remains an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to contact Detective Adrian Villegas at (559) 600-8210 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
