Shortly before 8:30 am on Friday, July 5, 2024, deputies were dispatched to check on an injured person near Shields and Fairfax Avenues, just outside of Mendota.   Upon arrival, deputies were directed to a corn field where they found a man who was deceased. He was later identified as 37-year-old Antonio Torres Ochoa of Mendota.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation.  Detectives developed information that identified 38-year-old Javier Medina, a.k.a.
