The victim of a recent homicide has been identified as Merced Sanchez, 82, of Raisin City.
Detectives continue to need the public’s help to identify the person(s) responsible for shooting Sanchez.
At 5:30 am on Monday, October 12th, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots fired on the 6200 block of W. Young Ave. in Raisin City. Deputies arrived and found a man next to a vehicle who had been shot to death. Deputies spoke with a family member of the victim who said he was outside checking on his property when they heard gunshots.
Homicide detectives later took over the investigation. They conducted several interviews and collected evidence, but have not been able to identify a suspect / suspects.
