Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested and booked Juan Rocha Molina into the Fresno County Jail. The 31 year old Fresno man faces felony charges of attempted kidnapping and vehicle theft. Molina’s bail is set at $85,000.
Around 8:30 am on Monday, Molina approached the woman and her granddaughter outside their home. Molina displayed a key chain as a toy in an effort to lure the little girl to come with him. The woman intervened and ordered Molina to leave the property, which he did. A short time later, Molina returned and again tried to capture the child’s attention with his key chain. The woman became scared, so she took her granddaughter into her car, locked the doors, dialed 911 and waited for help to arrive. She gave a description of the man and his vehicle to dispatchers.
Around 9:00 am, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3000 block of N. Cornelia Ave. in Fresno for this report of a man (Juan Molina) trying to take a four year old girl from a parked car. Deputies arrived and searched the area. They found Molina parked in a church parking lot located near N. Cornelia and W. Garland Avenues.
