Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 20 year old William Vallejo of Fresno. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges of carrying a loaded stolen gun and possession of drugs for sale. He also faces various drug-related misdemeanors.
Around 2:00 am on Friday, July 13th, a sheriff’s deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a car near the intersection of Shaw and Palm Avenues in Fresno. The driver tried to evade the deputy, but was found moments later parked at a restaurant near this intersection. The deputy approached the vehicle and saw the driver, later identified as William Vallejo, standing in the parking lot. As the deputy began to talk with Vallejo, he took off running. The deputy, along with help from another deputy, ran after Vallejo and caught him a short distance away. During a search of Vallejo’s car, deputies found a backpack filled with baggies of methamphetamine, a jar of marijuana, a loaded 45 caliber handgun, a scale and numerous counterfeit $100 bills. A records check of the gun revealed it was stolen from southern California. Based upon all of these contents, it was evident to deputies that Vallejo was selling drugs.
