Members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit have identified the victim of a recent homicide. He is Jonny Alexy Calderon Aguilar, 25, of Mendota.
Around 1:45 pm on Saturday, February 4th, 2017, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible deceased person at the Mendota Wildlife Area located on the 4000 block of South Santa Fe Grade. A citizen reported finding a body in the bushes near the water. Deputies arrived a few minutes later and located a Hispanic man with visible trauma and confirmed he was deceased. Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin an investigation. No one has been arrested a motive for this murder has not been determined.
This marks the second homicide of 2017 in Fresno County.
