Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Armando Fimbres, 26, of Fresno. He is being booked into the Fresno County Jail on a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor for possession of stolen property. Fimbres was released from prison two months ago and is currently under Post-Release Community Supervision, which is part of AB109.
Around 11:45 am on Tuesday, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a possible burglary in progress at a home along the 700 block of N. Villa Ave. in Fresno. A woman, who was washing dishes, looked out her window and saw two men knocking on the front door of her neighbor’s home. After no one answered, the men walked around to the back of the house. The woman became concerned and reported the suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Office. The first deputy on scene encountered the men as they walked out of the house. The deputy detained one of the men, Armando Fimbres. The other man ran away, and hopped a fence that lead to nearby Highway 180. Deputies circulated the streets and EAGLE One assisted from the air, but they were unable to find the second suspect who ran away.
Deputies found drawers throughout the house which had been rummaged through. There were also televisions and wrapped Christmas gifts stacked up in the garage. The deputy stopped the suspects as they were about to back their van up to the garage to load the items into it. The homeowner had just left 20 minutes prior to the break-in. She does not believe any of her belongings are missing. This remains an ongoing investigation.
