On Tuesday, Rep. Jim Costa presented Fresno County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jeff Kertson with the Allied Professional Award.
The Congressional Victims' Rights Caucus honored Sgt. Kertson for his work fighting abuse in the San Joaquin Valley. Sgt. Kertson and his team of dedicated detectives and Community Service Officers investigate cases of elder abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse and child abuse. They work tirelessly to support and empower victims of crime, while holding those who perpetrate violence against these victims responsible for their acts.
Sgt. Kertson joined the Fresno County Sheriff's Office in 1994. He currently serves as Commander of the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force’s jurisdiction is a nine county area of Central California and is one of sixty-one (61) Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces located across the United States. Currently, Central California ICAC consists of fifty-nine (59) affiliated Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies spread across Central California. The Central California ICAC Task Force is dedicated to protecting children online and identifying, locating and arresting those who sexual exploit our children via the internet.
Sgt. Kertson also volunteers his time as a Board Member for Rape Counselling Services of Fresno (RCS). RCS Fresno provides advocacy, education and support to sexual violence survivors. RCS Fresno works to end rape and sexual violence and empower survivors while supporting safe, consensual relationships.
