7/26/17 - The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased person found in a canal on Monday as 68-year-old Subag Singh of Fresno.
Around 10:15 AM on Monday, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to McCall and Jensen Avenues in Sanger regarding a deceased person in a canal. An employee with the Fresno Irrigation District found a deceased man in the water near one of their grates. The Sheriff Office’s Dive Team responded and was able to remove the body from the water. After inspecting the body, visible trauma was observed on Mr. Singh so the Sheriff’s homicide team was called out.
Mr. Singh was last seen walking away from his house on Sunday, July 23rd, at around 7:25 AM. Mr. Singh lived in the 100 block of N. Douglas near Armstrong Ave. Detectives are trying to piece together Mr. Singh’s whereabouts after he left his house. Mr. Singh was wearing a white shirt with blue sleeves, gray pants and black shoes. He was also wearing a white Ramal covering his head.
Crime Stoppers has offered a $2,000.00 reward for any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) in this case. Your calls to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous.

After inspecting the body, visible trauma was observed on the man so the Sheriff’s homicide team was called out. The decedent has not been identified. We are in the early stages of the investigation and no further information is available at this time.
