12/31/19 - Homicide detectives investigating Sunday’s deadly shooting of 48 year old Alphonso Durazo need the public’s help to find two people who lived at the home (5215 E. Belmont Ave.) where the victim was found.
Detectives are trying to locate and interview 22 year old Raymond Islas and his 27 year old girlfriend Valerie Clark, A.K.A. “Nikki.” Detectives have had success speaking with several people who live at the house, with the exception of Islas and Clark. Their statements could play an important role in the investigation.
Additionally, Durazo was in possession of a rental car at the time of his death. However, detectives have been unable to find that car. It is described as a white, 4-door 2020 Toyota Corolla with a CA license plate # 8KHH379.

12/30/19 - The man who suffered fatal gunshot wounds on Sunday has been identified as 48 year old Alphonso Marcus Durazo of Fresno.
Just before 3:00 pm on December 29th, dispatchers with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an injured man inside the garage of a home on the 5200 block of E. Belmont Ave. in Fresno. Deputies and EMS arrived and arranged to transport Alphonso Durazo to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, where he later died.
Homicide detectives have learned that the home is divided into many rooms and several different renters live there. Detectives are working to identify the residents of the home and are trying to identify people who frequent the home on a regular basis to interview them. It is unknown if Durazo lived at this home. He used to be involved in gangs and it appears some of the tenants have active gang ties.
No arrests have been made. This marks the 18th homicide in Fresno County for 2019.
