The Sheriff - Coroner’s Office has identified 33-year-old Raul Gomez of Mendota as a murder victim.
Gomez is originally from El Salvador. He was reportedly last seen Saturday morning.
Around 8:00 am Sunday, deputies responded to a report of an injured person inside an almond orchard located near the intersection of Derrick and Clarkson Avenues in Three Rocks. Deputies found Gomez had been shot to death.
This remains an ongoing investigation. No suspect(s) have been arrested.
This marks the fifth homicide of the year in Fresno County.
