The Fresno County Sheriff – Coroner’s Office has identified the man found deceased inside a burned home in Big Creek. He is 58-year-old Scott Newquist, a resident of the home.
It was at 5:30 am Thursday, deputies were dispatched to assist Cal Fire – Fresno County firefighters who were at the scene of a fire on the 55000 block of Jungletown Lane in Big Creek.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives conducted an investigation and had the body removed shortly before noon. The scene was then turned over to fire investigators and the Public Administrator Office.
This remains an ongoing investigation. Cal Fire – Fresno County is investigating the cause of the fire.
