Around 7:30 pm on Wednesday, a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol in the mountains was dispatched to help a husband and wife whose vehicle was unable to drive any further due to a fallen tree that was blocking the roadway. The couple had a cell phone, but it did not have an active subscription. However, it was still able to successfully dial 911.

1/14/19 - Sheriff's detectives have identified the suspect from last Friday’s deputy involved shooting. He is 37 year old Jose Ledesma of Fresno. He remains in the hospital, listed in stable condition. He has been electronically booked into the Fresno County Jail. He faces multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, brandishing a weapon and making criminal threats. His bail is set at $185,000.
